Total Solar Eclipse 2009
Apologies :( So like the weather nuts predicted, the party for millions of people hoping to watch Wednesday’s solar eclipse was ruined by heavy clouds and raining in Shanghai. I have not got any pic and vids of the eclipse, sadly. But I got three nice pictures from other parts of China. They're amazing. (You can view'em on my Flickr .) Also you can check out loads of videos on YouKu’s special eclipse page.
When the longest solar eclipse of the 21st century started at 8:30 am (0030 GMT), I did live tweet up(@lyanghsueh), in case you missed it:
- The cloudy sky gets darker, but still no sign of the sun in Shanghai downtown. #
- Shanghai has turned on its street lights. #
- It's raining hard here, can't see the sun, sadly. But darker more. OMG #
- Enjoy this special dark moment... well, we missed the total solar elicpse. Shanghai #
- Gettin' brighter now, a new day starts. Wait! My power, my powers gone. No ;) #
While it may have been a bit of a letdown to not be able to actually see the eclipse, and only experience it through the night-like daytime darkness it gave us for a few minutes, it was cool none the less :)
